Mission Statement

The Martin Family Foundation believes that strong communities are a reflection of strong families. We are dedicated to supporting programs that build family values and create assets for communities. We intend to concentrate our resources in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado, within areas that impact Children, Religion, Education and Health and Human Services.

Funding Priorities:

The Martin Family Foundation invests in new, innovative programs as well as established programs in Wyoming, Colorado and Montana. Priority is given to grant requests that strengthen the non-profit, leverage the dollars of the Martin Family Foundation, and collaborate with other programs to promote a synergistic effect on the community. Our Foundation recognizes that assets in communities are people as well as buildings and we favor programs that improve the well-being of both.

In striving to achieve our mission, the Foundation concentrates its giving in the following areas:

Children:  The Foundation believes in helping those who cannot help themselves. Therefore, we favor programs that offer disadvantaged children a ray of hope in the present and for their future. We invest in programs that develop leadership skills, build self-esteem, encourage a sense of community and provide mentorship.

Religion:  The Foundation believes in the power of faith and Christianity. We support programs that foster Christian values of hope, love, forgiveness, life, honesty and charity. We invest in programs that model these values to children and adults through education, worship and community involvement.

Education: The Foundation believes that education provides a passport out of poverty. We seek programs that educate children and young adults that would otherwise not have an education. We invest in programs that teach learning fundamentals, life skills, and support the long-term well-being of our society.

Health & Human Services: The Foundation believes that all human beings deserve to reach their full potential. We favor programs that minimize human suffering and improve the living conditions of those who are in transition or crisis. Priorities of the Foundation are programs that address the prevention of the social and economic issues related to human suffering and address basic human, social and physical services.

Limitations:

The Foundation will not make the following types of grants.  Any request for funding for these purposes will be denied.

  • Grants to individuals for any purpose
  • Grants for political purposes
